Special Use Permit approved

Hudson Oaks Mayor Tom Fitzpatrick commended Eagle Scout candidate Preston Fought for improvements Fought and his crew made to the city’s public safety building as an Eagle Scout project.

The commendation was presented during the regular Aug. 27 City Council meeting.

Fought, a sophomore at Aledo High School, presented a slide show to the council showing the work, which involved replacing a picnic bench, adding two outdoor seating benches, and repairing and adding a new walkway to the picnic area.

Fitzpatrick presented Fought a framed proclamation, congratulating him “for the successful completion an Eagle Scout project and for demonstrating outstanding leadership, citizenship, and dedication to community service.”

Fought was accompanied at the meeting by his parents, Jessie and Brooke Fought; sisters, Olivia (a student at McAnally Middle School), Caroline (a McCall Elementary School fifth-grader), and Audrey (a kindergarten student at McCall). Grandparents also attended.

Fought is a member of Aledo Troop 2001.

Special Use Permit

The council unanimously approved a Special Use Permit for a U-Haul rental facility on the grounds of Calvin Allen Saddlery, contingent upon the business providing an impervious parking area with striping for the rental units.
