The city is in a planning phase where “community input takes center stage,” according to the City of Aledo website. Stakeholders are asked to play an “important role in guiding the [plan] direction forward” by sharing their insight at the meeting to help shape Aledo’s future, said Laura Weber, City of Aledo communication and events manager.
Connor Roberts, assistant project manager at Freese and Nichols, gave a presentation about the Downtown Comprehensive Plan, then attendees were invited to use interactive boards to submit feedback, bring new ideas, shout out what’s working well, bring light to what matters to them, and make suggestions for what the area needs.
Efforts like these are integral in creating a community where city and business owners go hand-in-hand with future plans. “This process is designed to bring those perspectives together so decisions reflect what matters most to the people who call Aledo home,” according to the City of Aledo website.
