Participants will enjoy a different tea each month as they learn the history and other facts about that month’s dedicated tea and spice. They will also discuss recipes incorporating the chosen spice and share how the recipes they tried turned out at the next meeting. Those with successful recipes are encouraged to provide the library with a copy so a Tea and Spice Club cookbook may be compiled.
Members drank pumpkin spice tea for October. Next month’s tea is still being determined. The group talked about cinnamon, which will also be November’s spice since the next meeting will be the first time members will have had a chance to experiment with recipes. The group offered suggestions for December’s spice, which will possibly be either cloves or nutmeg.
Future teas and spices will be decided upon as the club goes.
The Tea and Spice Club meetings are set for 10:30 a.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month, though changes to the schedule and other aspects of the club might be made later based on community response.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 24. This program is geared toward adults.
The library staff would like to add more programs for adults. The staff is looking for suggestions from the community no matter if they are geared towards adults or another age group. Anyone with an idea for programs and times for programs is free to share it using the program poll box located on the library help desk. All suggestions are anonymous.
Anyone with questions about library programs are encouraged to email the library’s programming staff directly at libraryprograms@aledotx.gov. Staff members at the desk are also happy to answer questions in person or via phone at 817-441-6545.
