The Aledo Bearcats and Ladycats got a glimpse of one of their main district opponents as they traveled to Azle to compete in the prestigious Nest Invitational recently.
Dylan Chandler and Brice Bohn led the Aledo varsity contingent, winning gold medals in the boys 120-pound and 126 categories, respectively. Mateo Douglas also captured gold in the boys junior varsity 120 division.
Aledo also had a runner-up finish from Cade Rangel in the 285 division of varsity boys. Noah Chasteen (JV boys 126) and Grace Beasley (JV girls, 107) also placed second.
The JV girls finished fifth as a team out of 20 entries. The varsity boys were eighth out of 19 and varsity girls were 13th out of 20.

The Bearcats and Ladycats were competing in a tri-match against Hurst Bell and Lewisville Hebron at press time in Hurst. They are in the McCready Memorial tournament in Colleyville this weekend and will compete in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Tournament Dec. 13-14 in Fort Worth.
