Recipient of drug sent to hospital

Parker County Sheriff’s Special Crimes Unit (SCU) investigators arrested a woman Dec. 21 in connection with providing potentially lethal narcotics to another person.

Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said the investigation began when a man called emergency services saying an adult female was found unresponsive in the backyard of a residence in northern Parker County.

The victim was revived after a family member administered four doses of Narcan to her when they suspected she had overdosed on illegal narcotics.

Paramedics treated the female on scene, and she was later transported to a local hospital for further medical care.

Sheriff’s SCU investigators conducted an investigation identifying Sheyanne Elizabeth Odell, 25, as the person who distributed three Fentanyl pills to the victim.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Odell during a traffic stop the same day on an unrelated warrant for manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance. At the time of her arrest, Odell was found in possession of 23 suspected Fentanyl pills similar to the ones delivered to the overdose victim. The pills were field-tested yielding positive results for containing Fentanyl. During an interview, Odell admitted to investigators that she knew the pills contained Fentanyl and that she intended to deliver the remaining pills to other individuals.

Sheriff’s SCU investigators also charged Odell with additional felony counts of manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance and manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance causing serious bodily injury or death. As of Friday, Dec. 29, she remained incarcerated at the Parker County Jail.

“We wish to commend our deputies and investigators involved for taking these drugs off our streets,” Authier said.
