General Manager Brooke Clock comes from a family of “foodies.”
“We like to try all the different restaurants, and when we tried Toastique, it stood out to us as a fresh and inviting environment, and the food was delicious,” she said. “It was healthy, we fell in love with it, and we wanted to eat it every day, so we decided to open one.”
Once open, Clock said she wants to make sure “that every customer has a positive experience.
“It’s bringing in that healthy aspect of the food and providing an option for every customer to know that they’re eating healthy and it’s good for them,” she said.
“I think it’s just an environment that welcomes everyone,” Clock said. “It complements the surrounding area, and it gives everyone an option that they didn’t have before.” The menu reflects that inclusivity with vegan and gluten-free options and a range of “gourmet toast, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, smoothie bowls, coffee, espresso, and more,” according to the company’s website.
Clock said the most popular items are the PB Bowl, the avocado smash toast, the smoked salmon toast, and, her favorite, the PB Crunch toast, which includes “honey roasted peanut butter, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, berry jam, granola, peanuts, honey drizzle, and mint on walnut raisin toast,” according to the website.
While the menu items seem simple, careful preparation and presentation by staff enhances the overall dining experience.
In addition to focusing on customer experience, Clock hopes to partner with the school’s Career and Technical Education program to provide students with experience managing culinary operations — making for a business that contributes to the community in more ways than one.
Finishing touches and the hiring process are underway for the new location. Once complete, the grand opening will include prizes for first customers, gifts, and special promotions.
