The Willow Park Trinity Christian Eagles continued their winning ways Tuesday night, Jan. 7, at home against Shelton School. The Eagles, who recently got both starting senior guards Reed Robbins and Sam Carson back from injury, cruised to a 63-43 win, the team’s 19th of the season.

The Eagles (19-2) are ranked eighth in the state among Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class 4A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Robbins and Carson, who were starting for the first time since Dec. 17, had a plus-minus of plus 16 and plus 14, respectively, on the court. Carson poured in a team-high 18 points while Robbins had five.

Carson did most of his damage early to help give TCA early separation while Jonathan Overholt anchored a stingy defensive effort that helped the Eagles gain more offensive possessions as well. He was also a key contributor on offense with 11 points. John Crane also chipped in with nine points.

TCA (19-2) began TAPPS District 1-4A play at home against Fort Worth Temple Christian at press time. They host Midland Classical Academy Friday, Jan. 17, at 8 p.m. and Midland Trinity the next afternoon at 2.
