Swimming: Aledo has strong showing at elite meet

Once again Aledo swimmers successfully took on competitors from larger schools as they participated in a Texas Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association Non-Qualifier Meet at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium on Saturday, Nov. 15.

“This was another meet against some bigger 6A teams — Southlake Carroll, the Mansfield schools — and several of our upcoming regional opponents,” Aledo coach Meghan Roberson said. “This was our mid-season meet for those who have not qualified for TISCA, and we showed some great progress on the season.”

Swimmers who placed in the top five of their respective events were:

Girls medley relay, third with a time of 2:09.63 (Ava Curnutt, Aurora Dingman, Stella Morris, Hannah Peckham).

Morris, fourth in the girls 200-yard individual medley in 2:38.13.

Jaxon Robinson, third in the boys 100 Freestyle in 52.49, cutting 3.31 seconds off his personal best. Robinson also took 1.77 off his 200 freestyle to earn a TISCA qualification.
