BASEBALL

Tickets available for Bearcats fundraiser

Tickets are available for the Aledo Bearcats Poker Night Fundraiser on Jan. 17 at Morningstar Amenity Center, 128 Heather Wind Lane, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7.

Tickets are $150, which includes entry to play, dinner, drinks and a raffle ticket. Spectator tickets are $50, which include dinner, drinks and a raffle ticket.

VOLLEYBALL

WC’s May named AVCA Region Coach of the Year

Head coach Kailee May of the Weatherford College volleyball team has been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as the AVCA Region Coach of the Year for Two-Year Colleges (Southwest Region). She led the Lady Coyotes to a 34-4 record and fourth-place finish in the NJCAA Tournament, the best finish to a season since May began the program in 2021.

WC duo All-Americans

Beline Thibaut and Weronika Urbanska from Weatherford College volleyball have been named National Junior College All-Americans.

Thibaut logged 303 kills, 363 digs, 48 service aces and 28 assists. On defense, Thibaut had nine solo blocks and 45 blocking assists.

Urbanska is WC volleyball’s first two-time All-American, having earned back-to-back spots on the NJCAA All-American Second team in 2024 and 2025. She posted 344 kills, 50 service aces and 199 digs with 44 blocks.
