Aledo’s Peterson wins DC honor

Former Aledo High principal Dan Peterson was named the recipient of the Dave Campbell’’s Texas Football Community Leader Award Presented by Community Coffee this past week. Peterson retired in 2020, but remains very active in the community, including Bearcats and Ladycats sports.

“Everyone referred to him as Dan The Man when he was here. The staff loved him and the kids loved him. Principal Peterson was a guy that any kid could approach with a problem and he would help those kids. He didn’t just support football - he supported every activity. Dan’s a big time supporter of all kids and all things Aledo,” the publication quoted Bearcats head football coach Robby Jones.

Peterson spent 35 years in public education.
