Softball: TCA athletes garner accolades

Several members of the Trinity Christian Academy Lady Eagles softball team received postseason honors in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division III.

Named second team all-state was junior Emily Ickert, while senior Ashlyn Chaffey received honorable mention.

Ickert was also named the district Defensive MVP and first team, with Chaffey being a first-team honoree.

Also named all-district were freshman Alex Ickert, juniors Christina Kuschel and Claire Chaffey, with sophomore Molley Speaks named to the second team. Honorable mentions went to junior Breely Chapman, senior Avery Tiwater, and sophomore Gina Paul.

For Emily Ickert, this was her third sport in which she was honored as first team or with a superlative in district. She was first team for volleyball and first team and Co-Offensive in basketball.
