Six Ladycats named TGCA All-State

Six members of the Aledo Ladycats cross country team were named to the Class 5A All-State Team by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. All five are underclassmen from the team that finished third in the state.

Honored were juniors Sofia Brandenburg, Molly Garrison, Madison Larsen, and Mykel Murry, along with sophomores Mayden Mitchell and Micah Neal.

The Ladycats were led at state by Garrison. She placed sixth individually with a time of 18 minutes, 16.6 seconds over the 5K course.

Three Ladycats finished in the top 15, with Neal placing 12th in 18:42.7 and Murry taking 15th in 18:54.5.

For Garrison and Brandenburg, it was their third time to compete at state.
