Several from area among NTHSRA leaders

Several competitors from the Aledo-Weatherford area are among the top 15 in their respective events in the North Texas High School Rodeo as only a few rodeos remain before the NTHSRA Finals May 19-20.

The top 15 in each event qualify for the finals.

A couple from Weatherford lead their events as Noah Lee sits atop the bull riding standings with 531 points, 147 ahead of Millsap’s Mecate Trammell, and Savannah Letson leads in poles with 812 points, a 154-point advantage over Azle’s Laurel Allred.

Weatherford has two competitors for the boys all-around championship. Taygan Bertsch is second with 1,813 points and Caleb Lewis is third with 1,533, both behind Kreece Dearing of Abeka with 3,864 points.

Also, Weatherford leads the team standings with 8,323 points. Azle is second with 6,958.

Chute dogging: 6. Smith; 7. Gunner McGraw, Aledo.

Goat tying-walkup: 8. Ashtyn Coufal, Aledo; 12. Sienna Pendergrass, Weatherford.

Poles: 1. Savannah Letson, Weatherford; 12. Klein.

Ribbon roping: 2. Bertsch, 5. Praytor, 7. Lewis.

Team roping-heeler: 10. Lewis, 12 Bertsch.

Team roping-header: 10. Lewis, 11. Bertsch.

Boys all-around: 2. Bertsch, 3. Lewis, 5. Praytor, 9. Smith.

Girls all-around: 12. Letson.
