Roberson breaks own records at NISD meet

Posted

Aledo Swimcat Haley Roberson shattered her own pair of school records this past weekend at the NISD Invitational at the Northwest ISD Aquatic Center.

Roberson posted a time of one minute, 58.01 seconds in the 200-yard freestyle, besting her previous mark of 2:01.69. She also swam a time of 5:17.73 in the 500 free, eclipsing her former record of 5:19.54.

Like the new records, the old ones were also set in this meet last year.

As a team, the Swimcats finished fourth — without scoring any points in the diving competition.

Also of note was senior swimmer Sam Ogden, who took first place in both 100 Free and 100 Back.

The boys squad took second place in both the 200 medley and 200 free relays.

Several other swimmers placed in the top three in their respective events:

Tanner Howse, second in 100 butterfly and third in 200 free.

Kyle Scharlow, third in 50 free.

Corah Satterfield, third in 100 back.

The Swimcats will next compete Nov. 10 in a tri-meet at Wilkerson-Greines Natatorium in Fort Worth.
