A "small-format, fully licensed [Baylor Scott & White] hospital” is coming to Willow Park.
This hospital closes a gap to "neighborhoods where access to healthcare currently requires longer commutes” between emergency services and provides "comprehensive care for major and minor adult and pediatric medical emergencies,” according to a press release.
Baylor Scott & White Health is the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas, serving more than three million patients annually. Meaning, it "reinvests back into patient care, access and community health rather than distributing profits to shareholders,” said Matthew Olivolo, manager of North Texas Media Relations for Baylor Scott & White Health.
"This allows us to focus entirely on improving the well‑being of the communities we serve,” Olivolo said. "Our not‑for‑profit status puts people — not profit — at the center of every decision we make,” now including Willow Park.
With an overall cost of $15 million, the Willow Park hospital will house 16 beds, eight inpatient, and eight emergency department beds, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's Architectural Barriers Project database. There will also be access to X-ray and CT imaging.
The project, beginning on Jan. 12, "represents an investment in the well-being of Texas families, bringing care closer to home, delivered by teams they trust,” the press release stated. The hospital is set for completion in late Dec. of this year, expanding healthcare access to rapidly growing communities like those in the West Fort Worth area.
Along with the Willow Park location at 5400 E. Interstate 20 Service Road South, there are three more being added in North Texas: Pleasant Grove, Dallas; Renaissance Square, Fort Worth; and Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth.
