The Lady Coyotes lost to No. 17 MCC 67-50. McLennan (19-4 overall, 7-3 in conference) is 10-1 at home this season.
After falling behind by 10 points in the first quarter, WC outscored McLennan by eight to cut the halftime deficit to five at 33-28. MCC held the Lady Coyotes at bay in the second half to seal the win.
Weatherford’s Neso Anisiobi turned in 12 points and nine rebounds.
The WC women are 12-9 overall and 4-6 in conference play.
In the men’s game, No. 20 MCC won 66-58. WC had a 33-31 lead at the half, but the Highlanders had a 10-point edge in the second half.
Three Coyotes finished with double-figure scoring: Josiah Coleman (16 points), Bol Dhieu (14) and Andre Bennett (12).
The Coyotes made 12 of 13 free throws.
The Weatherford men dropped to 11-14 overall and 3-6 in conference play. MCC improved to 23-1 overall and 8-0 in conference. McLennan is 15-0 at home this season.
