Major Perk, a coffee shop in Weatherford, was officially selected by award-winning movie and TV director Brad Lyon for a featured appearance in an upcoming B Stream original series.
Lyon, now serving as Chief Operating Officer of The B Stream — a new streaming platform positioning itself as an alternative to Netflix — is known for his offbeat storytelling and creative cinematic vision. He discovered Major Perk while scouting for coffee shops to feature in the series and was drawn to the brand’s commitment to quality, character, and community.
“When we started looking for the perfect coffee brand to build a key moment in the show around, Major Perk stood out immediately,” said Lyon. “It’s not just a product placement — it’s a story point. It says something about the character and the emotional tone of the scene.”
The upcoming series — described as “The Office” meets “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” set within the film industry — follows a quirky director on the hunt for the perfect location to shoot his next horror film. In a key scene, the character struggles to find satisfying coffee while working remotely, longing for the rich, comforting taste of what he brought from home — Major Perk.
This appearance will serve as one of the first branded product placements featured on The B Stream, and could later receive extended exposure through Amazon Prime Video after the show’s initial exclusivity window.
For Major Perk, this is more than just a feature — it’s an invitation into a narrative that blends comedy, creativity, and the culture of coffee.
“We’re incredibly honored to be chosen,” said Rachael Watson, owner of Major Perk. “Being part of this kind of storytelling — with a director like Brad Lyon and a platform as ambitious as The B Stream — is a big win for independent brands like ours.”
