East Parker County Library has great news! We are proud to announce we have regained accreditation in the Texas Library System for State Fiscal Year 2024: September 1, 2023, through August 31, 2024. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) has been authorized to accredit libraries since 1971, and the East Parker County Library (EPCL) has been accredited for more than 17 years.

As an accredited library, we now have access to any Texas Library System program made possible through federal funding, including grant opportunities, staff training, and the TexShare Card and TexShare Database programs.

The TexShare Card program allows library patrons to borrow materials throughout Texas via participating TexShare libraries. Please visit the library at 201 FM 1187 North in Aledo to get a TexShare Card any time we are open (Tuesday through Friday from 10am – 6pm, or Saturday from 10am – 1pm).

The TexShare Database program offers library patrons free 24/7 access to high-quality electronic resources including full-text academic journals and popular magazines; fiction and non-fiction e-books; genealogy databases; DIY, health, and business information; interactive learning resources for all ages; tools for job seekers; and more. If you already have an East Parker County Library card, please stop by the library or contact us today for the password to access the TexShare databases.

To learn more about both TexShare programs, visit the East Parker County Library website at https://www.epclibrary.com/texshare.

Beck Gorman is the new director of the East Parker County Library.
