McKenzie Harrison-Kading has been named the Bearcat Dance Team director in Aledo ISD.

Harrison-Kading has performed as a competitive dancer as a part of school and studio teams from a young age, and continued her dance and dance leadership training at the college level. Most recently, she has served the Texas Christian University Elite Dance Team as the head coach and president, and previously as the assistant coach and vice president. Harrison-Kading has coordinated training, choreography, fundraising, and the strategic direction of the program while also competing with the nationally-recognized team.

Harrison-Kading has worked with Crowd Pleasers Dance for four years as a dance teacher and choreographer, working with dance teams across Texas and assisting with team and officer camps and competitions.

“I am incredibly excited and honored to join the Aledo ISD family as the director of the Bearcat Dance Team,” Harrison-Kading said. “Dance education has always been a passion of mine, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented students and a supportive community whose expectation is excellence. Throughout my coaching experience, including my time coaching the TCU Elite Dance Team, I have loved helping students grow not only as performers, but also as confident leaders and teammates.

“I am passionate about creating a positive, disciplined, and inspiring environment where students can thrive both inside and outside the classroom,” she said. “I cannot wait to begin building relationships, continuing the tradition of excellence at Aledo, and pouring into the students and program for years to come.”

Harrison-Kading has also worked in studio dance and completed her student teaching in Dance at Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD, assisting with the dance program and high school dance teams. She has a bachelor’s degree from TCU.

“We are excited to have Ms. Harrison-Kading join the Aledo High School-Daniel Ninth Grade campus and lead our growing dance program,” Aledo ISD Fine Arts Director Missey Head said. “Ms. Harrison-Kading will bring an expectation of excellence, helping our dance teams compete at the highest levels while elevating our entire dance program.”
