The Aledo JV football teams both scored victories in action on Oct. 13.

The JV Orange defeated Burleson Centennial JV 42-14, keeping its record spotless at 8-0.

The Bearcats took their opening drive 75 yards to get on the scoreboard early.  Gavin Beard connected with Blake Burdine on a 35-yard pass to sustain the drive. Ethan Hodo finished the scoring drive with an 8-yard touchdown run.

Burleson Centennial answered with a scoring drive of their own and added a two-point conversion to go up 8-7.

On the Bearcats' next offensive possession, Gavin Beard connected with Cayden Hix on a 52-yard completion. Jayden Griswold then caught a 12-yard touchdown pass.

The Spartans would answer with another successful drive, but this time the Bearcats stopped their two-point attempt, making the score 14-13 in favor of the Spartans.

The Bearcats got a stop, and the offense took advantage of a short field. Kade McCown added to the scoreboard with a 3-yard touchdown run. The drive was sustained with a critical completion from Beard to Hix on 4th down.

The Bearcats forced another stop late in the second quarter. On the Spartans' punt, Adrian Fuller made a fantastic punt return for a 45-yard touchdown giving the Bearcats a commanding 28-14 lead going into the half.

The Spartans received the second-half kickoff and the Bearcats got the all-important defensive stop on the first drive. The defensive line controlled the line of scrimmage with crucial plays made by Brody Adams and Jacob McIntire.

The Bearcats would take a commanding lead and never look back when Gavin Beard went to the air, connecting with Blake Burdine for a 26-yard touchdown pass.

The Spartans would not score again thanks to the suffocating defense from the Bearcats.

The Offensive players of the game were Gavin Beard, Blake Burdine, Christopher Gomez, and Jayden Griswald.  The Defensive Players of the game were Brody Adams, Randy Dixon, Cory Tilly, and Jacob McIntire.

The JV Orange team was host Denton Ryan in a battle of district unbeaten on Thursday after press time.
