Garrison finished second in the Class 5A State Meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock on Oct. 31. It was the highest finish she has posted in four consecutive years competing at state.
The Ladycats also finished third as a team, the third straight season in which they’ve finished in the top three. They were also third in 2024 and second in 2023.
Garrison had previously finished sixth at state individually in 2024 and 12th in 2023. She consistently improved in her state individual appearances, beginning with a 41st-place finish in 2022.
Garrison won District 5-5A individual championships in 2022, 2024, and 2025, finishing second as a sophomore in 2023. This past season she also won the Region I Meet after runner-up finishes in 2022 and 2024, along with fourth in 2023.
“Molly has been an incredible teammate and leader for this team. It has been amazing to watch her accomplishments and improvement over the last four years,” Aledo cross country head coach Mike Pinkerton said. “She is one of the most determined - and talented - runners I have ever been around, and I know that determination will take her far!”
Garrison is also a standout in track and field. As a junior she placed third in the state in Class 5A in the 1600-meter run, along with sixth in the 3200. This was on the heels of winning district and area in both events and finishing second at regionals in each.
Garrison was also named Class 5A All-State by the TGCA, along with six teammates. Joining her were seniors Sofia Brandenburg, Madison Larsen, and Mykel Murry, with juniors Kjersten Loy and Mayden Mitchell and sophomore Hadleigh Walton.
Brandenburg was also named TGCA Academic All-State.
