Freda Nell Priddy DeShong passed away October 8, 2022.

She was born to Maida Gray Priddy and David Woodrow Priddy on August 3, 1940 in Bellevue, Texas. The family moved from Bellevue to Dallas and eventually settled in White Settlement, where Freda attended public school and was a 1958 graduate of C.F. Brewer High School.

Freda's first marriage was to Lloyd Collier Cox with whom she had her first son, Ronald Scott DeShong (Brian Theobald, Los Angeles, California). Her second marriage was to Royce Dale DeShong with whom she had her daughter, Dana Danell Morrison (Glenn, Weatherford, Texas), who was born on Freda’s 23rd birthday, and son, Jeffrey Todd DeShong (Fort Worth, Texas); grandchildren: Brandi Glover Koon (Mark, Argyle, Texas) and Jacob Ryan Glover (Maranda Rodriguez, Fort Worth, Texas), and her great-grandchildren, Noah Glover, Maelyn and Myer Koon; sister-in-law, Delores "Dee" Priddy; and niece, Laura Priddy Koerber (Kristeen), many cousins whom she loved and adored as well as numerous longtime friends.

She was preceded in death by both parents; as well as her two brothers, David Ray Priddy and Robert Alton Priddy; and best friends, Christine Clark Woodard Caruthers and Gail Stanford.

Freda served as Miss Flame in the 1950s, representing the White Settlement Fire Department and Sweetheart of Headquarters Combat Command A, 49th Armored Division. She was employed with Bank of Commerce in the early 1960s, Dairy Queen Commissary and retired in 2004 after 32 years of service with General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin. Over the years Freda was a member of the Cook Heights Church of Christ and Western Hills Church of Christ. Her goal as a single mother was achieved after making sure all three children and grandson graduated college. Some of her greatest adventures were spent traveling to watch her grandson Jake playing college football as quarterback for Midwestern State University.

She left this world dearly loving her family and friends while looking forward to being reunited with those she has loved and missed.
