Four Bearcats named all-district

Posted

The Bearcats had one of the most successful hoops seasons in program history this season. Under the tutelage of head coach, JD Robinson, Aledo experienced a 20-win season for the second time since Robinson was named head coach, and just the third time in the past 25 years.

Capping off such a memorable season, the Bearcats (20-13) brought home a bi-district championship trophy for just the second time in Aledo basketball history.

Success hasn’t come easy for Aledo basketball. It’s no wonder, then, that four Bearcats were named to the 2023-24 All-District 5-5A Team by the coaches in the league.

In their final year playing at the high school level, three senior Bearcats earned all-district honors. Jack Sawyer was named the Offensive Player of the Year by the coaching staffs around the district who were able to see first-hand how fierce a competitor he was throughout the season.

Also representing Aledo, junior guard Joaquin Pacheco was named the District 5-5A Newcomer of the Year as he made quite an impression on coaches and players around the district in his first varsity season for his high motor and competitive tenacity.

Senior guard Jackson Todd earned a spot on the all-district first team. Fellow senior guard Owen Peterson was named second-team all-district for the Bearcats.
