Former Aledo Bearcat Trace Mazon is making quite an impression in his first season with the Weatherford College Coyotes. The freshman infielder has eight doubles in 16 games, tying him for eighth nationally in NJCAA Division I.
Mazon is second on the team with a .392 batting average (first among players with 35 or more at-bats). His .588 slugging percentage is second and his on-base percentage of .500 is third (both first among players with 35 or more at-bats).
In addition, he leads the team in runs batted in with 20.
The Coyotes (12-4) are ranked third in the nation. They finished third at last season’s NJCAA Division I World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado, their first appearance at the elite event.
