Eight Ladycats academic all-state

Eight members of the Aledo Ladycats softball team have been named Class 5A Academic All-State by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Honored from Aledo were seniors Claire Byars, Chloe Cox, Reagan Davis, Morgan Fontenot, Presley Hull, Madison Jarvis, Allison Mallard and Nathalie Touchet.

To be considered for TCGA Academic All-State a student/athlete must be a graduating senior with an overall GPA of 94 or above for grades 9-11, must be a varsity participant or member of the support staff of that sport in good standing an be of good moral character.

The eight also helped the Ladycats win the District 5-5A championship and advance to the second round of the Class 5A playoffs, finishing with a 26-6-1 record.
