Easy choice in constable election

The upcoming Precinct 4 Constable election has 3-term Constable Scott Jones (VoteforScottJones.com) running for re-election against newcomer Jerry Stockon (JerryStockon.com). Let’s look at the candidates.

Scott Jones was first elected Constable in 2012. Scott has nearly four decades of law enforcement experience. This includes a concurrent 26-year military career in law enforcement. Scott retired from the U.S. Navy as Master Chief Petty Officer. Scott and all of his deputies hold the Master Level Certification for law enforcement, certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).

Scott has stated that whether it be the constable position or his deputies it is not a position for the inexperienced. I suggest you do an internet search on Scott Jones Constable and read the Aug l, 2023 article in The Community News outlining Scott Jones and the job of constable.

Jerry Stockon is a well-known home builder and realtor in the local area. Jerry is a newcomer to elected office. Jerry’s website states that he is an experienced law enforcement officer. I believe his experience in law enforcement consists of Law Enforcement Training at Weather College and less than six months on the job with the Parker County Sheriffs Office. He does not hold even the Basic Level TCOLE certification. Should Jerry be elected he would be by-far the most inexperienced officer in the constable’s office.

The constable election is simply a case of the experienced verse the unexperienced. Re-elect Scott Jones.
