Parker County Clerk Lila Deakle has announced her candidacy for re-election, seeking a third term as Parker County Clerk. Deakle said she is running on a foundation of steady, effective leadership that has defined her tenure in office.
“It has been an honor to serve the people of Parker County,” Deakle said. “The heart and soul of our office are the dedicated employees who work every day to ensure our citizens receive the highest level of service. I may be at the helm, but they are the ones who truly make a difference.”
Before being elected County Clerk, Deakle served 24 years of active duty in the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. In that role, she was entrusted with maintaining official Navy records while upholding the highest standards of accuracy, accountability, and confidentiality.
“My Navy career prepared me perfectly for this job,” Deakle said. “I went from keeping Navy records to keeping Parker County records. The values I learned in the military — honor, courage, and commitment — continue to guide everything I do as County Clerk.”
During her time in office, Deakle said she delivered on every promise made to voters, bringing the Clerk’s Office into a new era of efficiency and technology while preserving Parker County’s heritage, hometown character, and commitment to transparency and respect.
A cornerstone of that success, she said, is her staff. The office prioritizes continuous education, collaboration with other counties, and responsible use of county resources to ensure the highest quality of service for Parker County citizens.
Under her leadership, the Clerk’s Court Division received statewide recognition for its expertise, being invited to present at County and District Clerks Association of Texas (CDCAT) conferences and assist other clerks across the state. The Records and Deeds Department, which includes Vital Statistics, also received awards from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
“We’ve built a team that other counties look to for guidance and innovation,” Deakle said. “Our record speaks for itself; we’ve modernized technology, strengthened partnerships at every level, and ensured that every citizen who walks through our doors is treated with respect.”
Deakle’s leadership and reputation have earned her multiple nominations for Clerk of the Year by CDCAT Region Vin both 2023 and 2025.
Among her other accomplishments, Deakle partnered with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association to pilot electronic marks and brands for livestock, making Parker County one of only 11 counties in Texas to pioneer the program. That success helped pave the way for House Bill 1417, which established a statewide electronic registry for livestock marks and brands.
“I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together,” Deakle said. “But more importantly, I know what works. Our office runs efficiently, transparently, and with heart — and there’s no reason to fix what is already working for the people of Parker County. I’m running for re-election to continue building on our success and to keep Parker County leading the way in Texas.”
Outside of public service, Deakle is a wife, mom, sister, and ‘Gigi’ to her granddaughter. She said her family keeps her grounded and reminds her daily why serving her community with honesty and heart matters most.
