CROSS COUNTRY: Aledo teams shine in elite meet

JV second among varsity in Benbrook

Posted

The Aledo varsity Ladycats and Bearcats traveled to College Station to compete in one of the nation’s elite meets, the Nike South, on Sept. 19. The Ladycats finished seventh in the elite division, while the boys were 11th, also running at the elite level.

“We had really good results from our varsity teams. The course was challenging, and the competition was fierce in the elite division,” Aledo coach Mike Pinkerton said.

Tyler Connelly led all Aledo runners, placing sixth among the boys over the 5-kilometer course. Molly Garrison placed 14th individually for the Ladycats.

The Aledo varsity will next compete another of the nation’s elite meets, the Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 26 at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
