Craft pizza and brews

Rotolo’s opening doors Feb. 23

Rotolo’s Craft & Crust, a family-oriented, Southern pizza brand, is opening its doors on Monday, Feb. 23 in Willow Park.

At the grand opening, the first 25 people who make a purchase have the chance to win free pizza for a year, special offers, merchandise, and promotional giveaways, according to a press release.

Rotolo’s was founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has spread to nine states across the nation with nearly 40 locations. Willow Park will be the third Dallas-area location.

Franchisees Matt and Lindsey Canon, who recently opened their first Rotolo’s in Mansfield, own the new location.

“We like to put local operators in the market. It’s not somebody out of town running it. Matt lives here, works here, and his wife is here,” said President of Rotolo’s Brad Mire.

Mire said because Willow Park is “earlier in the urban lifecycle and there’s so much growth out here…there’s so many rooftops being built, it’s checked a lot of boxes for us.”

The restaurant is located at 225 Shops Blvd., Suite 105, inside The Shops at Willow Park, and owner Matt Canon hopes it brings “community and a great pizza and family place, but also a place you can hang out and watch a football game on a weekend.”

Four different pizza styles and an additional menu of pastas, salads, sandwiches, and more makes the Rotolo’s menu stand out. “There’s something on the menu for everybody,” said Mire. The styles consist of New York, Detroit, Chicago, and traditional, with customizable toppings or craft menu options.

The ‘craft’ name comes into play with the craft pizza menu, along with the 30-tap beer selection. The taps showcase a mix of local and national brews, such as some from the Fort Worth Brewery. “We really want to have a wide selection of crafts so people can choose,” Canon said.

Even though the craft pizza and brews are what make Rotolo’s, “our core tenet is a place for families to come and hang out and enjoy a nice meal,” said Mire.

With the goal of wanting to be involved in the community, Rotolo’s plans to host give back nights and get in touch with the schools and church, if possible. “Anything that we can do to kind of entrench ourselves in the neighborhoods, that’s what we’re about,” said Mire. So, owners Matt and Brittney will keep Rotolo’s mission of community and good food alive in Willow Park.
