The Aledo Bearcats and Ladycats Orange teams competed in the Buzzy Open at Azle’s Cross Timbers Golf Course on Wednesday, Feb. 14. The Bearcats finished second among the boys and the Ladycats were third among the girls.
The Bearcats posted a team score of 334, behind Benbrook’s 324. The Ladycats shot a 408, while Plano was first with a 368.
Leading the Bearcats was Coavin Beard with a 78. Reagan Gilliland paced the Ladycats, shooting a 91.
Also for the Aledo boys, Brian Yarbrough shot 81, Tyler Anderson posted an 84, Johnnie Reed came in at 91 and Cade Moore had a 94. Rounding out the girls’ scoring were Catherine Haney, 101; Addison Russ, 108; Kylie Kirkland, 108; and Abby Gray, 111.
The four lowest individual scores comprise the team score.
All Aledo teams will be in action in the Bearcat Brawl Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24 at Squaw Creek and Split Rail courses.
