Busy stretch for Aledo teams

Varsity girls Orange third at Glen Rose

A busy few days for the Aledo High golf teams was highlighted by the Ladycats varsity Orange team finishing third in the Glen Rose Invitational at Squaw Valley Golf Course recently. They posted a team score of 373.

Meanwhile, in the boys competition in that same tournament, the Bearcats varsity Orange taking fifth with a score of 319.

Andrew Todey led the Bearcats, finishing 15th individually with a score of 78, while Pierce Russom and Ainsley English tied for 21st, each with a 79. Max Mathis came in with an 83 and Jack Hagood shot 94.

The four lowest individual scores comprise the team scores.

The Ladycats were led by Kylie Kirkland with an 86, with Sydney Russell posting a 90. Morgan Gahagan shot 94 and Macy Martinak came in at 103, with Emma Mangels firing a 107.

The boys varsity Orange also competed in the Briggs Berry Memorial on Oct. 6 at Pecan Plantation in Granbury, shooting 346. Russom shot 79, English 82, Todey 90, and Hagood 95.

The junior varsity Bearcats competed in the Granbury JV Tournament on Oct. 7 back at Squaw Valley. Bentley Beverlin led Aledo with an 81 for ninth individually, while Marshall Morgan was 19th with an 85.

The JV Ladycats were in the same tournament. Charlotte Roland and Taylor Jones each shot 103, Lilly Castillo posted a 113, and Addison Younkin had a 119.

All AHS teams will be participating in the Aledo Golf Fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 19 at Squaw Creek Golf Course in Willow Park.
