Aledo pitcher Cody Bradford threw a two-hit shutout to lead the Bearcats to a 5-0 victory over the Fort Worth Western Hills Cougars in a one-game bi-district playoff game Friday afternoon at Brock High School.
The win advances the Bearcats to the area playoffs.
Aledo will play the winner of the Wichita Falls Rider/Fort Worth Carter-Riverside bi-district playoff series that concludes on Saturday.
Bradford was the winning pitcher, allowing no runs and one walk with seven strikeouts in seven innings. Eric Anfin took the loss on the hill for the Cougars.
Aledo scored three runs in the second inning, added another run in the third and closed the scoring with a run in the sixth.
The Bearcats also took advantage of three Western Hills errors as only one of the five runs was earned.
Michael Alvarez led the 'Cats at the plate with a pair of singles, and Hunter Rosson and Calloway Shands each drove in a run.
