Spring has sprung, and so has football. And, with all due respect to the UFL down the road in Arlington, in Aledo that means practices are about to get underway for the 2025 season and the pursuit of a baker’s dozen of state championships.
With 12 state championships, the most of any high school in Texas, Aledo has bragging rights. Each championship began with a solid spring of workouts.
Practices begin Monday, April 14. They conclude with the spring game at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14.

The Bearcats are coming off a 12-2 season that saw them reach the Class 5A Division I state quarterfinals.
Of their 12 state titles, 11 have been won since 2009 with head coaches Tim Buchanan, Steve Wood, and current head coach Robby Jones. Their first title was won in 1998 under Buchanan.
The Bearcats will carry a 127-game national-record district winning streak into the 2025 season. They have won district every season since 2009.
