The Aledo Bearcats golf team competed in the Jay Brewer Memorial Tournament at Texarkana Country Club Oct. 7-8. The tournament was three rounds over two days and features some of the best teams from throughout the state.
The Bearcats posted a team score of 954, opening with a 325, improving to a 301 and finishing with a 328.
Braylon Mahanay led the Bearcats with a 228 total, posting rounds of 75, 76 and 77. Next was Jett Moore, 236 (81-76-79); Ethan Elmore, 246 (85-75-86), Helton Mossiello, 246 (81-74-88) and Grayson Freeman, 252 (86-80-86).
All varsity teams were competing in the District 5-5A Preview tournament at Sugar Tree Golf Course in Brock on Tuesday, ahead of the 19th Annual Ladycat/Bearcat Fundraising Golf Tournament next Monday.
