Bearcats begin defense of state title

The Bearcats picked up where they left off as they won the first games in the tournament before falling 7-6 to Keller Timber Creek.

The Bearcats featured an explosive offense, scoring 57 runs in the six games. The defense had some sterling moments as well, including a 10-0 shutout of Wylie and a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Dallas Jesuit JV.

In the final game, the Bearcats overcame a 6-2 deficit to tie the game at 6 in the bottom of the sixth inning. However, Timber Creek countered with the winning run in the top of the seventh.

The tournament had other exciting moments as well. The Bearcats held off a rally by Arlington for a 13-11 victory after building a 12-2 advantage. They scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Dallas Jesuit JV with Landon Barnes driving in both runs.

And, in a 13-8 win against Arlington Martin, Aledo led 7-3 before the Warriors scored five times in the top of the sixth. The Bearcats came back with six of their own in the bottom of the sixth.

The Bearcats are back in action this weekend in the PBR Invitational hosted by Denton Guyer, Flower Mound, and Trophy Club Nelson. They will then be one of the host teams in the Drew Medford Memorial Tournament March 5-7.
