Despite an incredible 32 points and 20 rebounds from Neso Anisiobi, the Lady Coyotes lost 84-79. The sophomore from Houston is averaging 16.0 points on the season and 26.6 points over her last three games.
WC had a 39-38 lead at halftime, but Hill outscored Weatherford 24-16 and held on for the win.
Kiah Goynes put up 22 points for the Lady Rebels.
WC dropped to 12-10 overall and 4-7 in conference play.
Hill won the men’s game, 69-66. The game was tied 66-66 until HC hit the go-ahead bucket with 28 seconds left.
Jel Malek led the Coyotes with 13 points. Bol Dhieu added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Hill had four players in double-figure scoring, led by Derrick Morris with 13.
The Coyotes are 11-15 overall and 3-7 in conference play.
The top four teams for the men and women advance to the NJCAA Region V Tournament. The Lady Coyotes, at 4-7 in conference, trail fourth place Hill (5-5) with five games remaining. The Coyotes, at 3-7, trail fourth place Ranger (4-5) with four games left.
WC will host Southwestern Christian College Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center. The women will tip off at 5 p.m. followed by the men at 7 p.m.
