Aledo teams end fall season strong

Boys Orange wins tourney

The fall golf season came to an end for the Aledo Bearcats and Ladycats on a solid note with strong tournament showings.

The Bearcats Orange team won the Burleson Centennial Tournament on Nov. 5 with a team score of 318. They were led by Pierce Russom, who won the individual medalist honors with a 76.

Also for Bearcats Orange, Archer English was second individually with a 77. Two others finished in the top 10 as Ainsley English posted an 80 for seventh and Alec Dolman was eighth with an 85. Narrowly missing a top-10 finish was Andrew Todey with an 87 for 11th.

The Bearcats and Ladycats Black teams competed in the Mansfield Lake Ridge Two-Step at Tangle Ridge Golf Course in Grand Prairie to end the fall season. The Ladycats placed third and the Bearcats were fourth.

The tournament is known for bringing in some of the toughest competition around.

Emily Crick paced the Ladycats Black with a fourth-place individual finish, shooting 159 over two days. The Bearcats were led by Braden Stokes, who shot 150 over the two days.

Both Crick and Stokes are state qualifiers in past years.

Other scores for the Ladycats Black were Sydney Purdon, 170; Harper Price, 182; Kenzie Todey, 184; and Addison Russ, 191. Also for the Bearcats Black were Logan Lund, 159; Evan Boukadoum, 160; Christian Moll, 163; and Tyler Anderson, 167.

Also at the Burleson Centennial Tournament, the Ladycats junior varsity placed second. They were led by individual champion Charlotte Roland, who finished with an 82.

In addition, Addison Younkin shot 94, Taylor Jones posted a 97 and Lilly Castillo came in with a 102.

The team scores are comprised of the four lowest individual scores from each day of play.
