Aledo placed with several new teams

Still in football league with Ryan

The Aledo Bearcats and Ladycats will be sharing district with several different opponents from the past couple of seasons, per the newest realignment announced by the University Interscholastic League Thursday, Feb. 1.

In football, the two-time defending Class 5A Division I state champion Bearcats will still be paired with fellow powerhouse Denton Ryan in District 3-5A. Also, Azle, Granbury and Brewer are carrying over into the same district for the next two seasons.

However, newcomers Denton, Keller Fossil Ridge, North Richland Hills Birdville and North Richland Hills Richland are coming onboard.

In other sports, Aledo will compete in District 5-5A, with Azle, Granbury, Saginaw and Brewer remaining as district-mates. Fossil Ridge and Chisholm Trail will join them.

Weatherford

The Kangaroos and Lady Roos are once again in District 3-6A alongside Crowley, Boswell and North Crowley. Joining them as newcomers in the same district will be Mansfield, along with Mansfield Lake Ridge and Mansfield Legacy.

Brock

The Eagles and Lady Eagles are moving up in classification from 3A to 4A beginning this fall. The Eagles football team will compete in District 3-4A Division II with Burkburnett, Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain, Graham and Mineral Wells.

In basketball and volleyball, Brock will be in District 6-4A with Brownwood, Glen Rose, Graham, Mineral Wells and Stephenville. Other sports alignments will be announced at a lat
