The boys were eighth out 17 teams and the girls were seventh out of 14.

"Great tournament showing for both boys and girls varsity teams. I saw great things from every single wrestler," coach Ben Shaw said. "They showed great skill and grit as they competed throughout the entire tournament."

The District 4-5A junior varsity tournament is Saturday in Springtown. The girls varsity tournament is Thursday, Jan. 30 and the boys is Jan. 31, both in Azle.

From the varsity tournament, the top four finishers in each weight class qualify for the Region I Tournament in Lubbock Feb. 7-8.
