With most competitive soccer facilities located in North Dallas, the new facility will provide a "more convenient and accessible location to house soccer in West Fort Worth…it will increase the development in this area also, as kids will be getting on the ball more frequently, with more intentional coaching and have more opportunities to play the game closer to home with the kids that they're going to school with and growing up with,” said James Kerr, founder of Aledo Soccer Club and Frontrunner Fieldhouse. "We look to also not just promote soccer development, but community and culture around the game that we all love, soccer, in the West Fort Worth and Aledo area.”
The organization, of more than 150 teams, has the support of the Aledo ISD school district and currently trains at the Aledo Middle School. Although this partnership has been successful, the grounds for a new facility will provide the club with a space to call its own. The facility will be home to two 11-on-11 (full-size) outdoor turf fields and two seven-on-seven outdoor turf fields, providing a space for optimal practice and game play.
"We have long-term plans to go vertical on multiple buildings,” said Kerr. As the club continues to grow, there is potential for office spaces, a gym, and other indoor training facilities. "We would also like to have a bike/hike trail around the facility connecting neighboring towns through the Aledo area. So the [parents] when they're dropping their kids off at practice can also exercise and work out.”
Located at 599 FM 1187 in Aledo, the facility represents an investment into club growth, player development, and community connection. "This is going to be the most fantastic soccer facility in the west Fort Worth area,” said Kerr.
