Riding a six-game winning streak, the Aledo Ladycats have an opportunity to share the girls’ District 6-5A basketball championship with a win over league-leading Boswell.
Tip off is at 6:30 p.m. today at the Aledo High School gym.
After falling at Boswell to end the first half of district play, the state-ranked No. 14 Ladycats have reeled off six consecutive wins and stand at 12-1 heading into today’s 6-5A finale. No. 6 Boswell, at 13-0 in district play, has outscored its district opponents by an average score of 70-33.
Boswell defeated the Ladycats, 79-47, at Boswell High School the first time the two teams met.
Three other AHS teams are also in district action today.
The Bearcats, at 3-8 in district play, host 5-6 Boswell in a game critical to both regarding the final playoff spot. The top four teams from each district qualify for the Class 5A playoffs.
Boswell defeated the Bearcats, 50-47, in the first meeting between the two teams. A Boswell win would eliminate the Bearcats from the 5A playoffs.
