Jared Chasteen

Jared Brandon Chasteen passed away on Monday, April 29, after fighting a short and courageous battle with appendix cancer.

Jared was born March 22, 1978, to Rhonda Goodman and Vince Chasteen. From his earliest days, Jared was a born entrepreneur; he could sell, negotiate, and turn a profit, so it’s no surprise that he continued his business studies at Texas Tech University. In his sophomore year of college, he met Adeana Jones and would not let her run away. After dating throughout college, they relocated to Fort Worth and married in 2001.

Jared worked as an IT consultant for Aspen Information Management for a number of years before venturing out on his own to start Bluefin Consulting in 2011. Jared valued his clients’ visions for their business needs and served them with loyalty and integrity, which led to close relationships that extended long after the work was complete.

While Jared found much fulfillment and success in his career, his heart was with his family. Jared prioritized his role as a loving husband and father above all else. Jared dedicated himself to building a life with Adeana that would nurture and strengthen their children. His role as father began in 2005 with Andrew’s birth, followed by Noah’s in 2009.

Jared was a hands-on dad. He coached their teams, hung out with their friends, and introduced them to deep sea fishing. Andrew and Noah always knew that they were the most important thing to their father.

Jared was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman Richard and Betty and Otis Chasteen.

Jared is survived by his wife, Adeana Chasteen of Aledo; sons, Andrew and Noah Chasteen; father, Vincent Chasteen of Haslet; mother, Rhonda Goodman of Granbury; stepfather, Ken Goodman of Fort Worth; grandmother, Sondra Richard of Fort Worth; brother and sister-in-law, Sean and Lilli Cox and nephew, Walter, of Shepherd, Montana; sister and brother-in-law, Brianna and Jake Nelson and niece, Paisley, of Post, Texas; mother-in-law, Brenda Jones of Amarillo, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jennifer and David Edwards and nieces, Carlee and Blythe, of Bastrop, Texas.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at Aledo United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to support the Jared Chasteen Memorial Scholarship fund.
