Twelve students from Trinity Christian Academy recently participated in the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) Speech Meet held at Harvest Christian School in Watauga. ACSI describes their speech meet as an event designed to help students develop techniques to speak audibly, articulately, expressively, and with poise and confidence. The students demonstrate their ability by delivering a memorized poem, speech, or passage. Contestants do not compete against one another; rather, they are judged against an established set of criteria.

Grant Wilson and Merril Stanfield received superior ribbons and gold medals, the highest awards possible. Brenna Wilson received the next highest with a superior ribbon and a silver medal. Receiving superior ribbons were Max Skogsberg and Anna Nelson. Excellent ribbons were awarded to Maggie Burnett, Jacob Enright, Olivia Quinn and Gianni Betancourt. Marla Stanfield, Teegan Thomas and Kate Roddie each received a good ribbon.
