Aledo ISD has named Michael Martinak as principal at Aledo High School-Daniel Ninth Grade Campus beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.
Martinak has spent his entire educational career - the last 22 years - in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, most recently as the principal of Euless Trinity High School.
Martinak spent eight years as the principal of Bedford Junior High. He also served as an assistant principal at Harwood Junior High, a social studies teacher and coach at L.D. Bell High School, and a social studies teacher and coach at Hurst Junior High. Martinak also has been an assistant director of summer school and director of summer school in the HEB ISD.
“Mr. Martinak has experience leading two large campuses with successful systems and teamwork driving his approach, and we know this will serve the students and staff of Aledo High School/Daniel Ninth Grade well,” Superintendent Dr. Susan Bohn said. “We are excited that he has chosen to become a Bearcat, and we want to welcome him to our Bearcat Leadership Team.”
Martinak has a bachelor of science from McMurry University, where he was a four-year varsity letterman in football. He has a master of education in leadership and policy studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. Martinak was named the 2023 Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Region 11 Principal of the Year and the 2020 Secondary Principal of the Year for HEB ISD.
“I am filled with gratitude and excitement to start my new role as principal of Aledo High School,” Martinak said. “Having devoted more than 20 years to serving students in public education, I feel incredibly fortunate to now serve in Aledo ISD. I look forward to meeting the faculty, students and community, and am eager to build relationships and immerse myself in the traditions and culture of the Aledo Bearcat community.”
