Long-time Council Member Bruce Pinckard resigns

Posted

The Annetta City Council meeting on Thursday, May was a bit somber with the resignation of long-time member Bruce Pinckard. He had severed the City of Annetta for 19 years.

From 2005-2010 Pinckard served as a member of the city council. From 2010-2021 he was mayor, and then he returned to the city council from 2021-2024.

There was nothing but positive admiration shared by council members and individuals in attendance.

“Over his 19 years of public service, he helped guide the Town of Annetta with hard work and putting the town first with no hidden agendas.” Said current Mayor Sandy Roberts.

Council member Kent Stacey said about Pickard’s dedication, “His legacy will be that he had a vision of what the Town of Annetta could grow into, and he kept on that path, always putting the town as the number 1 priority.”

The city council, along with the Master Gardners, planted a live oak tree in front of city hall in honor of Pinckard's service and dedication.

At this time, the city will be accepting applications for anyone who is interested in the Place 3 position that is now absent.

Other action

The meeting included the administering of the oaths of office to council members Shane Mudge for Place 1, Danny Coffman in Place 2, and Place 4 member Jim Causey for another term on the council.

Also, addendums to the interlocal agreement with Parker County and authorizing expenditures for chip sealing on Lakeview Drive, Rim Rock Road, Crosswind Court, Windrush Court Rock Court, and Hollow Drive were approved.

The next meeting will be June 21 at 7 p.m.
