Posted

Parker County celebrity Gloria Gilbert-Barron will perform her ventriloquist act at the Pink Day Cancer Survivor Luncheon at the Cactus Room in the Amon Carter Building at the Will Rogers Memorial Center on Tuesday, Jan. 28. The event, sponsored by the Careity Foundation and catered by Reata,  is free to cancer survivors and begins at 11:30 a.m.

Gilbert-Barron is a former Miss Texas (1982). She has appeared on stage opening for the likes of Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, LeAnn Rimes, Neal McCoy, and Randy Travis.

She has also performed with such all-time notables as the late country music legend Charlie Pride and even one of Hollywood’s historical figures, the late Bob Hope.

She can also be heard on Weatherford College’s Coyote Radio Station morning show from 6-9 a.m. weekdays, alongside Dave Cowley and Brent Baker, on 88.5 and 102.5 FM.

Last year Gilbert-Barron, who works at First Bank Texas, also received the Athena International Leadership Award from the Parker County Chamber of Commerce.

The event, for cancer survivors, will feature a free lunch, free gifts, free information on battling cancer, and even free tickets to the Jan. 28 Pink Night Rodeo (while supplies last). For more information, or to register, visit Careity.org, email Careityteam@Careity.org or call 817-882-4100.
