The Charles J Murray Outstanding Jurist Award is presented annually to a deserving federal or state judge who has served on the bench for a significant period of time and has exhibited an exceptionally outstanding reputation for competency, efficiency, and integrity. The award is to be presented in memory of Charles J Murray, who was a distinguished Texas trial judge, recipient of the Texas Bar Foundation’s Outstanding Jurist Award in 1988, and who exemplified the highest standards of judicial competency, efficiency, and integrity.
“For client advocates practicing in the trial courts to honor me, a trial judge, with this award is indeed humbling, but also gratifying. To receive such recognition from one’s peers is an experience I will always treasure,” said Judge Graham Quisenberry.
Honorable Graham Quisenberry was elected Judge of the 415th District Court (Parker County, Texas) in 1995 and continues to serve in that capacity. A member of the State Bar of Texas, he is a fellow of the College of the State Bar of Texas and a sustaining life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Quisenberry is immediate past president of the Texas Association of County Court at Law Judges. A graduate of Texas A&M University, he received his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Past recipients include Judge Fred Davis, Justice Sue Walker, Judge Jeff Walker, Judge Ken Curry, Judge Tom Lowe, Judge John Fostel, Judge David Evans, Judge Ken Molberg, Judge Mike Hrabal, Judge Melody Wilkinson, Judge Jennifer Rymell, Judge Don Pierson, Judge Susan Heygood McCoy, and Judge Don Cosby.
Ben Westbrook, TCTLA President, welcomed everyone and made announcements. Brad Parker, TCTLA Past President, introduced Judge Quisenberry and punctuated his remarks with humor and fun stories of the Judge’s decades of experience that kept all in attendance laughing and recalling the wonderful attributes of Judge Quisenberry. He is a Judge that follows the law and exemplifies all the attributes the public and lawyers hope for in a Judge. In attendance were several members of the Tarrant, Dallas, and Parker County Judiciary, and more than 60 members of the Tarrant County Trial Lawyers.
“As trial lawyers, we know that the right to a trial by jury is the cornerstone of our civil justice system — and that right only works when we have judges who are committed to fairness, integrity, and the rule of law. Judge Quisenberry embodies these values,” said Ben Westbrook.
TCTLA is a professional association comprised exclusively of attorneys whose primary area of practice is representing injured families in the civil justice system and is dedicated to the preservation of the right to trial by jury and following the Constitution.
