Irvin "Irv" Justice passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 89, in Aledo. Born on March 20, 1935, in Mellen, Wisconsin, he was a remarkable individual known for his wit, kindness, and welcoming nature.
Irv dedicated 22 years of his life to the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. His military career was marked by dedication and excellence, traits that he carried into his subsequent career as a Civil Engineering Technician for the Corps of Engineers.
Beyond his professional life, Irv was a devoted family man, survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Patricia Justice, and their children: Lori Kleymann, Lisa Daniels, Mark Justice and his wife Sherri, Wendy Case and her husband Alex, and Lindsey Johnson and her husband Zane. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Ashley and Jordan Kleymann, Brittany McGee, Lauren Martin, Jace and Haylen Johnson, and great-grandchildren Gunnar and Peyton Gibbs, Evelyn and Joseph Martin, and Miller McGee. He also leaves behind his sisters, Audrey Trnka and Jean Martin, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Irv was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Justice and Mary Gehrmann.
An avid sports enthusiast, Irv spent many years coaching softball and umpiring for youth sports. He was a die-hard Aledo Bearcat football fan and loved the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys (before they started breaking his heart). His love for crossword puzzles, travel-especially trips to Colorado with his son Mark-and a profound affection for his family were the hallmarks of his life.
In remembrance, the family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mended Hearts, the American Heart Association, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring Irv's compassionate spirit.
