Impact starts competitive season

Impact Athletic Training Center in Aledo got their competitive gymnastics season underway with three teams winning awards at the Kalahari Luau Invite Gymnastics Meet in Round Rock recently. 

The Levels 4, 6 and 7 teams all placed first in the meet. Impact alwso had multiple individual and team championships for each level, including Aledo’s Level 4 competitors Bennett Braxton and Kimberley Levesque, who each won the all-around and bars event in their division. Also, from Aledo, teammate Summer Phelps won the vault and floor and was second in the all-around behind Braxton.

In Level 6 competition Shaelyn LeCompte dominated her division by winning bars, beam and the all-around. From Aledo, Wellsley Morgan won the beam, followed by teammate Layla Simpson in second place.  

Tessa Harvey of Aledo placed first on the vault in Level 7. Teammate Scarlett Berlin, also from Aledo, took first in the floor competition. 

Impact’s next competition will be in Irving on Saturday, Jan. 18.
