“We had a few TDs called back due to penalties that just led to stalled out drives and punts. Very physical game, but our team showed great resilience against a strong opponent,” Eagles coach Cody McKenzie said. “Every setback is an opportunity to grow and understand our strengths and areas for improvement.”The Eagles will play their home opener at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 against Waco Live Oak Classical. The Falcons defeated Conroe Covenant Classical 20-6 at home on Aug. 30.
The Falcons, who moved up to Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools 11-man ball this season, were a perennial power at the TAPPS six-man level, winning a state championship in 2021.
